2018 Christmas

So we over did it again this year. Emma got a bike, an art desk, a Pomsie (she told Santa that's what she wanted for Xmas, he didn't understand her, lol), play makeup, Lite Brite, a Scruff of Luv, and other forgettable toys. John got a Power Wheels dune buggie, a tent, a big Paw Patrol fire truck with a little Marshall (this is how John described it each time he told anyone, including Santa), a monster truck, a talking baby dinosaur that is constantly going off, a bowling set, Transformers action figures, and much more!

This was our first Christmas as the Rosses on Barbara Place, on Christmas eve we decided to build a fire since we have never done that since we have been here since 1996. The kids loved it! I said "oh the fire looks like its dancing!", so then the kids started dancing like fire. Michael then showed them Santa on the Nordac tracker, they though that awesome and they started scrambling and said we better go to bed! So after many hugs, kisses, and Christmas caroling the kids were asleep.

Michael and I slept in John's bed since we didn't want them snooping around downstairs. We stayed up till 2 am building and wrapping.

The kids came and woke us up around 8:15. We felt like death, I didn't get really a wink of sleep. The kids went down the stairs, and started shrieking "he came, he came!" I was filming it, and of course the record button malfunctioned and I missed their recreations. Grrr! But they had a great time unwrapping all of their gifts. Michael was so thoughtful, I had told him a few weeks back that Netflix was taking down Friends, so he bought me the DVD box set. He's too good to me.

Since we have two living room/hang out areas, we put up two trees. Which worked out great, so we put the "smaller" gifts in the front/first. Then when had opened all the first gifts, we told the kids that may have left a few gifts in the back. They ran in the back room and starting screaming. He had left a the tent, bike, car and desk. Of course the battery wasn't fully charged to the car until 4pm that afternoon, so of course all day John kept asking us "can I ride the car???" But rightfully so.

Mommy decided to do an "easy" Xmas meal. Ordered an overpriced yet delicious Honey Baked Ham. I made some "easy" dishes that took longer than anticipated, but everyone seemed to really enjoy them. And I truly love making new dishes.

Overall, I think it was the best Christmas ever! The kids got everything they asked for, not too much squabbles, and every one was healthy. The 2 and half days mawmaw will be watching the kids.

One thing I don't want to forget, I was sitting on the toilet and I hear John yelling for me. I sit there and he eventually finds me, he tells me "Mommy I was looking all over for you." I ask him why, and he says "because I wanted to tell you I love you!"
